So Here Are the Details!

 Hi! Today I will be talking about some of the things we have prepared to start filming over this weekend. As I have said before, when analyzing film I realized how many details are put into it and now that I am making only a small portion of a film I realize how much work, effort and details are required. But that's fine because it just makes me appreciate the art of filming. 

Actors:

So Let me give you a list of our actors! 

                                                                      CAST:

RACHEL GOMEZ- Desiree Haghgoo (Star)

SANTANA JONES- Kimora Paraboosignh (Co-Star)

GIRL #1 - Naline Pierre

GIRL #2 - Natasha Irani

CALEB - Jacob Pina

Rachel's DAD - Desiree’s Father 

    These are the actors we have for now with two of them being Desiree and Kimora who are going to be one of the main actresses. We have at least 2 extras as friends and Rachel’s boyfriend. Moreover, Rachel's father since he is included in flashback scenes. It would be nice to have more actors and actresses to make the illusion of a party but it is difficult to get that many people for that but its the best we can do. Anyway, I am very grateful that all these other actors and actresses are able to help us film our project and I really appreciate it. :)

Costumes: 

For costumes, we have mainly focused on our main character, Rachel. She is going to be wearing some sandals, as that is the first part of the film. Moreover, she would be wearing a skirt with a cute top and maybe a cardigan like thing. Also some earrings and some jewelry. I do not know the specifics of color but mainly light and pink things since Desiree is the one choosing her outfit. I have told her that if she wants I can lend her a purse in order to make a full costume. For her friends and the extras, they would probably be wearing things that a teenager nowadays wears to parties, such as some jeans, a crop top, and maybe sandals or some nice sneakers. As for Caleb, I am not really sure as to what he is wearing but probably some jeans, nice shirt/ sweater, and some nice sneakers. The dad’s “costume” is going to be what a dad regularly wears. 

Props:

We did go over the discussion for props the other day in class. While some props will have close ups others will just be in the scene or in the background, but nonetheless these props are essential to make the vibe of the film. So the list for props are: red solo cups, lip gloss, mini speaker, pizza, iPhone,  and maybe disco ball. Some of these props might get into a close up shot but the ones we are certain that are going to have a close up shot is the redo solo cup, the mini speaker, the disco ball, and the lip-gloss.

Schedule (Location/Dates/Time);

As I said in the last blog, so far we have two official dates of filming and an unofficial third one. The dates are February 11th, February 13th, and February 19th. On the 11th, we will be filming at Alexa’s house, the bathroom scene. We will go at 4:30  P.M. since Alexa and Kimora have some responsibilities after school. On the 13th, we will be filming at my house for the party scene. We are going to start filming from 5:30 P.M to 6:00 P.M  that way we can have a sunset hour to a  night party and it shows the passage of time. For the 19th, if we do that day it would be at Desiree’s house as it will be the flashbacks scenes, so it will be easier for Desiree to have her clothes more easily available. But for now this is the schedule! 

Scripts

We did make a script, before the storyboard. We did this to have a visual idea before the storyboard and for making sure what the dialogue was. However, after doing our storyboard we did do some changes and modified some of the dialogue to make it fit the story or our character better. Moreover, we did add some more dialogue for the scene where Rachel is in the bathroom. I will have the link so you can see how the script looks and some extra details that are included in there.

Film Equipment

 So thanks to Alexa, we are going to have some nice cameras and equipment. Her father has lent her two Canon cameras consisting of the Canon EOS Rebel T3 and the Canon G9X. Also a tripod! (Very happy with all of this!) Obviously since it is Alexa’s equipment she will mainly be handling it with some help from me probably with the backup camera. Moreover, we are using Mac products for iMovie. Alexa has a Mac desktop which we are going to upload the shots and see if they are good and edit. However, to edit while we are at school, Kimmy will bring her Mac laptop so we can also upload at my house and edit all together. So far this is going to be great!

These are just some of the details for the filming and the process. I am hoping you are starting to get as excited as me to see the final product! til next time!
