Lights, Lights, and Lights!
Hi! We all know how important lighting is in a film. Whether it be how dark the room is or how bright it is, it is essential no matter what.
`On our first filming day, we played with the lighting in Alexa’s bathroom. They were all pretty bright lights, however, we were deciding whether to keep or take off some of the lights in the bathroom. Once we decided how many lights to keep, we started to film. We decided to keep all the lights on because outside it was kind of gloomy and dark since it was raining and was getting late.
For outside lighting we had to play with natural lighting which can sometimes be difficult. The sun was setting so it was the golden hour aesthetic which was nice. We were about to film the shots out of order, however, we realized if we didn’t film in chronological order then the shots lighting would not look good and would make the transitions odd. So I did try to make sure that we hurried because we had to work against the clock because of the sun. The very last shot outside was under a roof and it was darker at that point. However, I have bright lights under the roof so we were able to light the shot in a good way.
The lighting was very important especially since we played with natural light. It would have been cool if we could use more specific lighting effects however that is much more complicated and we would need better equipment. I still believe though, that the lighting in our film did turn out well. See ya soon!
