The Others (AKA The Extras)

 

Welcome again! I know sometimes we feel or DON'T feel as if we are the main characters of our life. However, we must realize that the supporting characters can be as important to our story. Today I will be talking about all of our supporting characters. I know we don’t get to really know them in the 2 minutes of our film, however, we started to set up their story as if their story were to continue on the screen. Tell me which one is your favorite!

Santana Jones (Played by Kimora Parboosingh): Santana Jones is one of Rachel's best friends. They are closer than some of the other characters that are at the party. In this opening sequence, Santa has some black denim shorts, a light brown crop top, and some black converse. She has some hair ties on her wrists and wears gold jewelry such as rings, a necklace, and earrings. She has very subtle makeup on and has her hair down. Santana is bubbly character and approachable. We did not go into full details of what this character’s story would be like but this is what we have so far. 

Kayla Lewis (Played by Naline Pierre): Kayla Lewis is a classmate of Rachel. We see Kayla wearing some black flowy yoga pants, a beige tank crop top, and some light purple crocs. She had her hair up in a ponytail and also had some subtle makeup. I would say that Kayla is also a very bubbly character and more of a welcoming one. 

Ashley Martin (Played by Wayra Valencia): Ashley Martin is also a classmate of Rachel. Since she is not that close with Rachel she asks how her and her boyfriend are doing. Ashley is wearing some white denim shorts, a black tank crop top, and some black sandals. She also had some light subtle makeup and her hair down. This character is probably one of the least influential but is important as she starts asking and showing the audience the truth behind Rachel and her relationship.

Ellie Lopez (Played by me): Ellie Lopez is another one Rachel’s closer friends. Ellie is wearing some black biker shirts, a black crop top that has white outlines of faces, and some balck high top vans. She has her hair up in a ponytail and also has some subtle makeup. She is wearing silver jewelry. Again we didn't look too much into these characters and  into their stories but they have potential of going in multiple directions. 

Ruby Francis (Played by Natasha Irani): Ruby Francis is the enemy/ frenemy of Rachel. Ruby in the party scene is wearing a tank top with several colors but not as bright as the shirt Rachel is wearing. She has  black denim shorts and some white vans. Kind of mimicking Rachel she has the same glasses but in black. This shows how Ruby may be jealous of Rachel and her “perfect” life. Moreover, she has her hair down and has subtle makeup.  In the flashback scene she is wearing black shirts and a red top. This time she styled her a little bit that way. It seems different for this scene. Overall, Ruby’s story is that she does not get along with Rachel and might be having a relationship behind the scenes with Cable. Moreover, Ruby is not scared to let Rachel know that she doesn't like her. (If you look close enough you can see Ruby not getting along with Rachel.)

Caleb Smith (Played by Jacob Piña): Caleb Smith is the boyfriend of Rachel. At the current moment Rachel believes Caleb is cheating on her with Ruby but she still tells people that their relationship is going great. Caleb is wearing some  black denim jeans, a dark blue sweater, and some black and white Nike high-tops. His hair is down. When we do see Caleb we see him between an argument with Rachel and Ruby. Did Caleb cheat on Rachel? Keep on watching to find out! ;) JK.

As you can see, we tried to have all of the supporting character’s costumes be more simple and plain so as to make our main character stand out. If we were able to continue on with the film I would have loved to go a deeper dive with these characters and their personality, But for now our star is Rachel Gomez. See ya next time.
